Backyard BBQ Party
We’re dusting off our cowboy boots, the grills are fired up, and the Backyard BBQ Party is rolling back into The Historic Plaza on Sunday, May 31, from 4:00pm to 9:00pm.
Hosted by the nonprofit Friends of The Historic Plaza, this event has quickly become a local favorite - an easy reason to gather, hang out, and enjoy a desert evening together. All events at The Historic Plaza are family and pet-friendly, welcoming the full crew.
The Cactus will be serving up grilled favorites while Los Poncho Tones keep the music going. Cold drinks flow from the beer garden and cocktail bar, line dancing picks up as the sun drops, and the mechanical bull is ready for anyone willing to take a ride. There’s space to connect, play some yard games, and settle into the rhythm of the evening.
Whether you’re riding the bull, dancing in the moonlight, or just catching up with friends, it’s all part of making those summer memories.

At the event, our friends Pals of Palms + Paws, will be collecting unopened dry and wet dog + cat food.
All donations will help support local families and their pets through Pals partnership with local food banks, helping keep bowls full for pets in our community.
